We see ourselves primarily as a technology company. We are engineers and programmers first and entepreneurs second. We seek innovative solutions for training specifically in the narrow field of Laparoscopy.

Laparo was founded in response to a demand for, and the opportunity for producing well-priced high-quality entry-level Laparoscopic trainers.

The company was conceived by two engineers: Radosław Nowosielski and Mateusz Rulewicz in 2015. The two had become friends many years earlier at the beginning of their studies at the Wrocław University of Technology where they studied biomedical engineering. Radosław specialized in medical electronics while Mateusz chose biomechanical engineering. After finishing their studies they started their work at the legendary Foundation for Development of Cardiac Surgery in Zabrze where they had the opportunity to be involved in work on the Robin Heart surgical robot. This is where Radosław was responsible for a special robotic glove control system, an aspect of which he patented and found use for much later.

At this time the two friends realized they wanted to find a way to start their own company and with the help of a start-up incubator they identified the possibilities in the field of Laparoscopy training. They found a partner in Mateusz Juszczak, who helped them in developing the business and logistics aspect of growing the business. With the help of practicing surgeons and medical professionals they built their first commercially viable product, the Laparo Aspire. Over the next 5 years they then identified possibilities for improvement and iterated new, more complex and more advanced products with the Laparo Adept trainer, the Laparo Advance, Laparo Analytic.

After beginning with something very simple, Mateusz and Radosław have applied the scientific method and an engineering approach of finding increasingly more complex solutions to develop a broad selection of products which develop a complete training path to Laparoscopic surgeons around the world.

Minimally invasive cholecystectomy - advantages of laparoscopic and robotic approach

Minimally invasive surgery has revolutionized the treatment of gallbladder diseases. Today, cholecystectomy is performed primarily using the laparoscopic approach, considered the gold standard, but the option of robotic surgery is becoming increasingly common. Both techniques have their advantages and limitations – from shorter hospital stays and reduced pain to advanced 3D visualization and greater precision of instrument movements. This article explores the procedure, highlights the benefits of each method, and explains why the choice of technique depends not only on the patient but also on the team’s experience and equipment availability.
