The Gastric Bypass Module includes training in the stage of closing the enterotomy, which involves suturing the hole created by the stapler to create a tight connection between the stomach and the small intestine. This is one of the stages in restoring the continuity of the digestive tract during gastric bypass surgery. The exercise also includes training the staple line oversewing after using the stapler to increase the tightness of created anastomosis and suturing the esophageal hiatus in the diaphragm to secure reduced stomach in the proper position.
