Some time ago, we showed you how the Pediatric Pyeloplasty procedure looks in virtual reality. Now, it’s time for esophageal atresia in children!?Congenital esophageal atresia is a defect that occurs in the early stages of fetal life where a portion of the esophagus fails to develop, resulting in a discontinuity of the esophagus with one or both ends being blind or communicating with the trachea. The procedure involves closing the abnormal connection between the esophagus and the trachea and then suturing the upper and lower parts of the esophagus together?‍⚕By using virtual procedures, surgeons can practice and refine their skills before performing the actual operation, which can help reduce the risk of complications during the procedure.
