We are thrilled to share some exciting news from the field of minimally invasive surgery! 😊
Specialists from Warsaw Medical University have successfully performed the first laparoscopic liver donation from a living donor in Poland.🌟
This represents a significant advancement compared to the traditional method of abdominal wall incision. As you may know, the modern laparoscopic approach accelerates the donor’s recovery, minimizes the risk of complications, and reduces postoperative pain. 🏥 It’s worth noting that the donor was discharged from the hospital just 7 days after the operation, without any complications!
The extracted liver fragment was transplanted to a 2-year-old child, for whom it was the only chance of survival. This success highlights how laparoscopy is shaping the future of medicine, enabling more advanced and safe surgical procedures.
