Thanks to the incredible advances in medicine, laparoscopy is becoming an increasingly popular surgical method in animals too.

It’s because of its many advantages, which we mentioned to you many times. Which species qualify for surgery?

Due to their size, pets like dogs and cats are the most common species to operate on laparoscopically, while operations are also successfully carried out on horses or even bovines.

In which cases is laparoscopic surgery used in animals?

?sterilization,
?biopsy,
?perineal hernia repair,
?nephrectomy,
?in bovines, perhaps most significantly in the case of surgical correction of displacement of the digestive tract.
